Stunning Maxi MKIV Submariner with exquisite patina
The case is in excellent condition. Likely polished once with minimal material loss, it retains full lugs, sharp edges and a fine matte finish on the top of the case. While there are signs of wear and some light sleeve polish, the overall result is a magnificent vintage case – exactly the kind we love.
The highlight and heart of this watch is its wonderful dial—specifically, the MAXI MKIV variant. The dial is in top condition; as the photos clearly show, the lume material has developed a gorgeous, even vanilla patina that gives this vintage gem the perfect look.
The hands are also in top condition featuring a patina that harmonizes beautifully with the dial.
The bezel is beautifully sharp and the watch is fitted with a T19 “super-dome” plexiglas for fully showcasing that vintage aesthetic.
The bezel inlay is original to the watch; it is the late MK3 variant, characterized by the slightly wider top bar on the numeral “4” (in the “40” marking). This variant was used on MKIV and MKV Maxi Submariners making it a perfectly correct match. The lume pearl is also tritium.
The 93150 Oyster bracelet is in excellent condition showing normal signs of wear and light stretch. It was replaced during a service, so the clasp code is S W3 indicating March 1996.
