Great 18038 Day-Date with a very rare golden LINEN dial.
The case is in excellent condition. Recently carefully polised by my expert, it shows exactly the look that one wishes for on a vintage day-date again. Wonderfully even proportions, full lugs, a razor-sharp edge cut and a perfect matt finish on the top of the case.
The quality of a 18038 case can also be seen on the right side of the case. There must always be a wide gap between the bezel and the crown which means the case must be thicker than the bezel in this area which is exactly how you want it on this watch!
There are minimal signs of wear, but of course no deep scratches, dents or anyting like that.
The highlight of this watch is the rare golden LINEN dial. These dials are characterized by their unique structure, which looks like a woven linen fabric. Depending on the incidence of light, these dials appear as matt or glossy and offer a perfect radiance. The condition of the dial is perfect, with no damage.
The tritium hands are also in top condition with a harmonious patina.
The 8385 President bracelet is in perfect condition. Just as the watch, we’ve polished it so it shows no signs of wear and no stretch. Wrist fun is guaranteed for the next decade. The brcelet‘s clasp code is B for the year 1978, making it the original bracelet to the watch. Also the watch has received a fresh movement service from our watchmaker so no service is needed in the next years.
Also the watch has received a full movement service from our watchmaker so there is no service needed in the next years.
Conclusion: Great 18038 Day-Date with a rare dial. I really like the 18038 because it offers a cool mix of vintage and modern. In addition, you can find many exciting dials like this one in 18038.
