A fantastic 17014 Oysterquartz with a super rare grey dial and diamond indices, full set with box and papers.

The case is in excellent condition. It has been polished once in the past—executed with such precision that the proportions remain correct, the edges are beautifully sharp and the matte finish on the top of the case.

There are only minimal signs of wear; there are no deep scratches, dents, or anything like that.

The white gold bezel is in top condition, characterized by sharp teeth and very light signs of wear.

The highlight of this watch is undoubtedly the super rare grey Oysterquartz dial with diamond indices. The Oysterquartz wasn’t particularly popular in the 1990s—a fact reflected in the sale date (see below). An Oysterquartz with a diamond dial was even less common, as the dial commanded a additional charge of over 30% compared to the standard version. You had to be a true enthusiast to treat yourself to one, which is why these dials are rare and highly demanded today.

Incidentally, the dial was replaced during a Rolex service in 2021. Unfortunately, our client no longer has the paperwork for this, but it is important to note that these dials could never be ordered separately from Rolex; diamond indices for the Oysterquartz were only available on an exchange basis.

The condition of the dial is perfect and so are the hands.

This fantastic, rare Oysterquartz comes as a full set. It has been sold on May 23, 1995, by rolex authorzed dealer Florio Folini Gioielli in Italy (Country Code 170). The set is truly lovely, including the Oysterquartz translation and the Oysterquartz booklet.

The sale date (manufactured in 1991, sold in 1995) further illustrates that these watches were not in vogue at the time.

The integrated 17010 Oysterquartz bracelet is in near-perfect condition. It shows absolutely no stretch, no signs of wear and is complete with all 13 links. The clasp code is O10, indicating October 1990, which confirms that it is the original bracelet for the watch.

Conclusion: A wonderful and rare Oysterquartz with magnificent appeal. Ideally suited for both a collection and for wearing.
