Description: Beautiful Day-Date Oysterquartz in unpolished condition, straight from Dolce Vita Italia.
You need good friends, even as a watch dealer. Directly from a very good friend in Italy, who acquired the watch for me from a nice older gentleman and the original owner.
The case is in excellent condition. Unpolished, perfect proportions, wonderful edges, and the correct vertical matte finish on the case. The pictures captured the wonderful features of this watch. There are signs of wear, yes, but the bezel alone and its distance from the case edge makes our hearts beat faster as Day-Date fans.
The silver sunray-cut dial is also wonderful. Perfect condition, all lume dots intact, and with a great patina. It’s also rare, by the way, because in the 80s, people liked tone-on-tone colors, and gold dials were in demand. Silver, black, etc. are much rarer.
The hands are also in excellent condition, with a patina that matches the dial.
The sapphir glas is perfect and the bezel is beautifully sharp, as befits an unpolished watch.
This Day-Date will delight its new owner with box and papers. It was sold by CURNIS GIOIELLI in Bergamo in March 1986. Incidentally, the buyer has noted the purchase price on the certificate. 12 million lire. Not bad. You simply used to become a millionaire faster 😉
The integrated Oysterquartz 18-karat yellow gold bracelet is just as wonderful as the watch. Light stretch, light signs of wear, exactly as good as the watch. Of course, it’s original to the watch and, with all 24 links also suitable for larger wrists.
Conclusion: I’m a Day-Date fan, and especially the Oysterquartz. Great proportions, perfect on the wrist.
