Description: The Creamy dreamy. Beautiful 6265 manual-wound Daytona with a rare BIG RED cream dial.
The case is in very good condition. Certainly polished in the past, it shows full lugs, great sharp edges and a wonderful matte finish on the top of the case. There are minor signs of wear, but no deep scratches, dents or anything like that.
The highlight of this watch is the dial. Not only is it the wonderful BIG RED Panda variant, no, we have something absolutely rare here. Between around 1978 and the end of 1980, Rolex installed a special dial for the manual-wound Daytonas. This dial is characterized by a less distinctive sunray-cut and a creamy white color. While the classic BIG RED Panda dials often appear silvery, here it is a clear and strong cream tone, which gives the watch even more charm and in combination with the great BIG RED lettering it creates a wonderful look.
Another feature of the CREAM dials is the lume material. All of these dials have significantly larger lume dots than their earlier or later versions.
By the way, the condition of the dial is great. Only the lume material at the seven o’clock dot is missing. Otherwise no damage and a wonderful overall look.
The watch comes with the original fat bezel from the period, a wonderful t21 superdomed plexiglas and the pushers are also the much nicer MK2 pushers without grooves.
Just as the watch, the 78350 Oyster bracelet is great with only minimal stretch and light signs of wear. It has all links and with clasp code G it is the original bracelet for the watch.
Conclusion: rarity and beauty perfectly combined.
