Wonderful 1803 Day-Date with a magnificent matte diamond dial from Venezuela.
The case is in fantastic vintage condition. Likely polished once, it displays beautiful proportions, crisp edges, and a fine matte finish on the top of the case. There are signs of wear and some sleeve polish, but this is exactly how one imagines a vintage beauty over 50 years old.
Beside the cool set, more on that later, the dial is a real highlight. It’s a perfectly preserved matte black Day-Date dial with diamond indices. Perfectly preserved because all the lume dots are intact, the print is absolutely clear and there is no damage on the surface. This level of quality is extremely rare.
The hands are also in excellent condition with a patina that complements the dial.
The bezel is still sharp, and the plexiglass is in top condition.
This vintage beauty comes from Caracas, Venezuela. It has been sold on January 5th or 6th, 1978, at rolex authorized dealer Joyeria e Relojeria PETRARCA. The highlight of the set is undoubtedly the original sales receipt. Someone was careful and looked after their possession for 50 years.
The President bracelet is the version with the concealed clasp. The bracelet is in excellent condition, with a fully intact crown, light stretch and the same minor signs of wear and light sleeve polish as the case. It is, of course, original and with 23 links, perfectly suited for wrists up to 18.5 cm.
Conclusion: A Venezuelan Day-Date with vintage charm for a lifetime.
