Description: Great german Day-Date with box and papers with top and rare blue dial
The case is in very good condition. Full lugs, super sharp edges and a perfect matte finish on top of the case is what makes it wonderful. There are minimum signs of wear present but off course no deep scratches, dents or anything like that.
The absolute highlight is the beautiful blue sunray dial. Blue dials are super rare because back in the 80s and 90s the taste was different. People bought champagne dials, mostly with diamonds because that’s the look the wanted. Today it’s different and to me a blue dial Day-Date is the perfect combination between sporty and classy.
The condition of the dial is perfect. All lume plots are full present and with a nice strong patina that gives a good contrast to the dial. The hands are also top with a bit lighter patina which is typical for the time of production.
The bezel is top sharp and the crystal perfect.
This blue beauty will be delivered with original box and papers. It was sold from in June 1995 from Rolex Authorized retailer Wallner in Nürnberg Germany (LC 100).
The 8385 is nice with light stretch and fully intact crown on the clasp. It shows the same very light signs of wear as the watch and comes with 22 links. The clasp code is T11 for November 1994 and therefore it’s the original bracelet to the watch.
Conclusion: Sportiness and Classic Look in perfect combination. A Day-Date in the top league.
