Description: A magnificent and extraordinary white gold Day-Date with a so-called “thick case” case and a beautiful SALMON dial.

Wow, now that’s a case for a Day-Date. As the pictures immediately showcase, this is a Day-Date with the “thick case” variant, which is only available in the Single Quick version. I love this case shape because it makes the watch appear a bit larger and gives it even more presence on the wrist. A real eye-catcher.

The case is also unpolished, with wonderful proportions, great edges, and a fantastic matte finish on the top of the case. Yes, there are signs of wear, but all components of the watch fit so harmonious, it just fits perfectly.

Another highlight is the dial. I’ve been collecting Day-Dates for almost ten years now and have never held one of these dials in my hands until now. Neither at trade fairs nor at meetings. It’s a magnificent SALMON dial that, depending on the light, shines in varying shades of salmon. White gold, salmon, a combination made in heaven.

The condition of the dial is also wonderful. No damage and the lume material has a wonderful creamy patina, just how we like it. The hands are also in wonderful condition, with a patina that perfectly matches the dial.

The bezel is wonderfully sharp and also unpolished. The sapphire glas is perfect.

The watch has also just been serviced by our Rolex trained watchmaker and therefore we offer two years warranty on the movement.

This magical Day-Date has been produced in 1982, and it took until 1989 before someone in sunny Kuwait took a chance at this beauty. It has actually been sold by rolex authorized dealer Zaid Alsarhan Sons, Rolex Agents in Kuwait.

It wasn’t unusual for a Day-Date to sit for so long back then.

What’s also particularly nice is that, in addition to the original box, the original certificate case with the serial number sticker has been preserved. A nice feature that further enhances the set.

The 8385 President bracelet, just as the watch, is unpolished and shows only light stretch (see separate image). The clasp on the crown is wonderfully present, and with 23 links, it’s also a good length. The clasp code is G for 1982, making it the original bracelet for the watch.

Conclusion: LOVE IT. A Day-Date you won’t find again anytime soon. All the hard facts are spot on, and the look of this watch are to die for.
