description: Beautiful 18038 in perfect unpolished condition
The case of this Day-Date is simply perfect. It is completely untouched, unpolished, with wonderfully sharp edges and an excellent matte finish on the top of the case. We have specially taken a picture of the distance between the bezel and the case and the crown in order to better present the quality of this case to you.
This watch has experienced very little wear time in the recent years, as it is slightly tarnished, which is typical for 18 carat yellow gold. See the crown area. This effect occurs when a watch has not been worn for a long period of time. The copper, which is part of the 24-carat gold alloy, begins to oxidize. I would leave this great vintage effect, but if you wish we can of course remove it by cleaning the case. It is important that no polish is necessary, only a simple cleaning liquid has to be applied.
The golden sunray cut dial is in perfect condition. It shows no weaknesses, all of the lume dots are completely intact and have taken on a wonderfully strong patina. The set of hands, just as the dial, is in perfect condition with a wonderfully harmonious patina that matches the lume material of the dial.
The bezel is wonderfully sharp and the sapphire glas has no weaknesses. The 838518 carat presidential bracelet is, just as the watch, unpolished with the crown on the clasp fully intact (see picture). It shows only light stretch, wears perfectly on the wrist and with the clasp code H for 1986, it is the original bracelet for the watch.
Conclusion: 18038 Day-Date in excellent quality. It’s extremely rare to find something like this these days.
