Description: Unpolished Single Quick Day-Date with super rare diamond string dial.
The case is in wonderful unpolished condition. As the pictures perfectly and show, this 18038 presents itself in the most beautiful way. Wonderful proportions, razor-sharp edges and a wonderful matte finish leave nothing to be desired. The watch is a stunner on the wrist and the minor signs of wear underline that this watch has been worn little and with great care.
The caseback sticker is still there, which further underlines the quality.
In addition to the perfect condition of the watch, the dial is also a highlight. As you immediately recognize from the pictures, it is an onyx dial. Onyx dials are one of my favorite dials for the Day-Date because the contrast between the black dial and the gold case is just perfect. In addition, the clean structure of the stone face gives the watch an unmistakable look.
By the way, the condition of the dial is 100% perfect. The same applies to the hands!
Just as the case, the bezel is unpolished and razor-sharp. The sapphire glas also shows no weaknesses.
This wonderful vintage Day-Date comes in a cool collector’s set. It has been sold on August 28, 1985 by Oriental Watch Co. in Hong Kong. What makes the set special is that the ORIGINAL PURCHASE RECEIPT is part of the scope of delivery.
The 8385 President bracelet is identical to the watch and is in perfect condition. It is characterized by zero stretch and minimal signs of wear. It comes with 22 links and with clasp code I for 1984, it is the original bracelet to the watch.
Conclusion: Wonderful vintage day-date in a quality that has become rare.
