German Pepsi GMT in a full set with rare “STICK DIAL”.
The case is in very good and unpolished condition. As the pictures of the case beautifully show, the proportions are perfect, the edges are wonderfully sharp and the matte finish on the top of the case is great.
This watch has been worn with pleasure but also with care over the last 16 years. It shows slight signs of wear and one or two small chips on the edges of the case, but overall in great condition.
A highlight of this watch is the rare and so-called “STICK DIAL”. This dial variant is characterized by a special shape of the II of GMT-Master II. In this case, the upper horizontal lines were not printed, so two lines simply form the Roman two. Hence the name STICK DIAL. Rolex phased out this variant relatively quickly and these dials are therefore highly demanded and collectible today.
The bezel is wonderfully sharp and also unpolished. The PEPSI bezel inlay is very good, with only very light signs of wear.
This fine GMT II comes with German box and papers. It has been sold in December 30, 2006 by rolex authorized dealer Becker in beautiful Hamburg.
The 78790A Oyster bracelet is unpolished, just as the watch. It shows signs of wear and some stretch, but overall it’s in great, fully authentic quality. The clasp code is OP5 for May 2006 and is therefore the original bracelet to the watch.
Conclusion: Great STICK DIAL GMT II from Germany. Perfect for both – the wrist and the collection.
