Description: A great 1998 Zenith Daytona featuring one of the last tritium dials installed.
The case is in top condition. Based on its overall feel, the watch appears to be unpolished—or perhaps lightly polished once. In any case, it is a top-notch case with excellent proportions, wonderfully sharp edges and a great matte finish on the top of the case.
The white Daytona dial is flawless and without any weaknesses. It is one of the last dials to feature tritium lume material, as production switched to Super-LumiNova between late 1998 and early 1999.
The hands also feature tritium and are in equally excellent condition.
The bezel is wonderful, with clear numerals and minimal signs of wear. The condition of the bezel confirmes my assumption that the watch is likely unpolished; however, as I cannot state this with 100% certainty, I am noting the possibility of a past polish.
This beautiful white Daytona comes with box and papers. It has originally been sold by rolex authorized dealer Henry Kay Corp in the USA on March 10, 1999. Thanks to the US paperwork, we know the watch was originally delivered with the white dial.
A great feature of this set is that the original hang tag with the serial number has been preserved.
Just as the watch itself, the 78390 Oyster bracelet is in excellent condition. It is one of the last bracelets to feature 503B end links rather than the later fixed “solid end links.” The bracelet shows very light stretch and minor signs of wear; with a clasp code of U11 (dating to November 1998), it is the original bracelet for the watch.
Conclusion: A classic white beauty with many high-quality attributes.
