Description: Incredibly beautiful and super rare bark Datejust in the fat case version with probably the best bracelet ever.
The case is in top condition. Check out the pictures. Super bold, perfect proportions, razor-sharp edges and an equally perfect matte finish on the top of the case. By the way, the watch has been polished once, see the service invoice from 2009 and you can see the result here. If you get a result like this, then it’s simply a highlight. Polished exactly as it was when delivered with minimal loss of material. JUST GREAT!
The dial is a great sunray-cut gold Datejust dial. The condition is perfect and it has a small highlight. It is the rare variant with black indices, which means that the indices appear much more present on the dial and give it more expression. The hands are also perfect with a harmonious patina to the dial.
This mega bark Datejust comes as a cool full set with box and papers. The watch has been sold by rolex authorized dealer Wempe in Hanover on March 12, 1980. The scope of delivery also includes the rare green Datejust box, which was available for yellow gold models only, as well as the original pencil pouch with serial number.
As mentioned above, the watch received a full Rolex service in 2009. In addition to the service warranty card, the invoice is also included and lists all the work carried out.
As already mentioned in the first sentence, the bracelet is incredibly good. According to the service invoice from 2009, the bracelet was sent to Rolex Geneva for a complete service. The result and the current condition are incredibly good. ZERO stretch. I have never seen such a tight and good Jubilee bracelet and I firmly assume that Rolex simply replaced the bracelet in 2009 with a new one from their inventory, which also explains the clasp code L5 for May 1987.
Conclusion: A Datejust in fantastic condition in a rare bark version as a German full set. You probably won’t find anything better.
