Description: Super cool Fat Lady GMT II with a wonderful inlay and a special dial.
The case is in great condition. It has been polished before but with the necessary expertise. Therefore, the case presents itself with excellent proportions, wonderfully clean edges, and a very good matte finish on the top of the case. There are minor signs of wear, but no deep scratches, dents, or anything like that.
The GMT-Master II dial is special. As the pictures immediately show, the dial has developed a wonderful patina over the decades, which occurs when the top layer of lacquer changes and becomes slightly matte. Among collectors, this effect is called “stardust” because these dials look like a starry sky. In addition to this cool feature, the lume material is also wonderful. It has developed a great, rich patina over the decades.
The hands are also top-notch, with a patina that perfectly complements the dial.
The bezel is wonderfully sharp, and the inlay—yes, the inlay—is also fantastic. It’s an original bold font inlay with thick numerals and strong serifs, combined with a wonderful fading of the black and red areas.
The 78360 Oyster bracelet is also fine. It shows light stretch and minimal signs of wear. It wears wonderfully on the wrist and with the clasp code F for 1981, it’s slightly older than the watch.
