Description: Unpolished Oysterquartz Day-Date in a full set with a rare dial.

The case is in top unpolished condition. It presents all the attributes we want from an Oysterquartz Day-Date. Perfect proportions, wonderful edges and a gorgeous matte finish on the top of the case.

Furthermore, the watch has seen very little wear in recent years, so the yellow gold is partially oxidized. This effect is caused by the copper in the alloy and is usually worn away by wearing yellow gold. But if you don’t wear your watch regularly, this patina will come off. You can remove it without any problems, but it is always a visual highlight for me and was therefore left exactly as it is.

Incidentally, Oysterquartz Day-Dates are provided with a horizontal matt finish which means it runs from left to right. Another quality criterion for early Oyster quartz day-dates is whether there is a gap between the crown and the bezel on the right-hand side. Here the case needs to be a bit wider than the bezel to confirm the unpolished condition. This is perfectly preserved with this watch!

There are signs of wear, as well as one or the other small chip, but as described in detail above, the case is a treasure for every vintage fan.

The beautiful white PYRAMID dial is in perfect condition a perfect contrast to the yellow gold case. These pyramid dials are very cool because of the pyramid structure of the dial and how it reflects the light they look white to cream depending on light.

The hands are just as wonderful with a harmonious patina.

The bezel is delightfully sharp and unpolished. Furthermore, it shows identical signs of wear as the case.

This great Oysterquartz Day-Date has been sold by Bucherer in Geneva on March 30th, 1989 and was therefore almost 7 years with the concessionaire until an owner has been found.

I was able to purchase the watch directly from the family of the first owner through a contact. This assured me that all accessories were handed over by the concessionaire at the time. The father only had a Rolex and otherwise wore Patek and Omega. It is therefore the case that Bucherer gave the wrong box to the watch in 1989. A mistake that happened more often at the time and was not corrected by me, because it can be and stay as sold.

The oyster quartz bracelet, also correctly stamped in the clasp with reference 19018, is also unpolished, with light stretch and 22 links. It is also the original bracelet to the watch with the correct clasp code F for the year 1981.

Conclusion: Gorgeous Oysterquartz Day-Date. I just like buying these watches in this condition, because you get sooo much beauty for a very fair price.
