Description:Super rare Double Quick Day-Date with red Grossular Pinball dial.
The case is truly amazing. Completely unpolished, it shows perfect proportions, wonderful sharp edges and magnificent matte finish on the top of the case. There are signs of wear and one or two scratches on the left side of the case, but overall a perfect vintage caseder ein oder andere Kratzer, aber in Summe ein perfektes Vintage Gehäuse
Two more arguments why this case is simply amazing: The watch has been worn so little in the recent years that the yellow gold has tarnished beautifully and therefore presents a rose gold tone. Furthermore, the caseback sticker is still completely intact.
In addition to the perfect vintage case, the dial is the absolute highlight of this watch. It is the super rare grossular stone dial variant with so-called pinball diamond indices.
Grossular comes from the garnet family and is characterized by its great structure and crystalline inclusions, which means the dial can immediately be recognized as a stone dial. It is also unique because each dial has a different structure. As the pictures wonderfully show, the dial is in perfect condition. There are no cracks or other flaws in the stone. You can see quartz crystals or veins running through the garnet. At the bottom of the lettering, the last letter of the word chronometer is a little difficult to read. The reason is that the R was printed exactly on a crystal edge and can therefore be seen from a different angle.
In addition to the stone dial itself, the indices are very exciting as well. These are so-called pinball diamond indices, named because of their shape and are the earliest form of diamond setting on stone dials. Therefore super rare and harmonizes wonderfully with the red of the dial.
The watch comes as a full set with box and papers and has been sold by rolex authorized dealer LE CLASSIQUE in Singapore. It is also particularly nice that the original hang tag with serial number has been preserved.
The 8385 President bracelet is in the same great condition as the case. It is also characterized by a beautiful patina and has almost no stretch and only minimal signs of wear. The clasp code is N11 for november 1989 and so it’s the original bracelet to the watch. Furthermore, it is complete and comes with 24 links!
Conclusion: Truly a rare beauty. I have been collecting and selling Rolex watches for more than 15 years and this is the first Grossular Pinball that I am able to offer!
