Description: From my personal collection: Beautiful unpolished 18208 with rivet oyster bracelet and super rare late baby blue Stella dial.
The case is in perfect condition. Unpolished, it shows perfect proportions, wonderfully sharp edges and a wonderful matte finish on the top of the case with only minimal signs of wear. When the watch came to me, it was in almost new condition and over the last few years I have treated it with pleasure but also with great care. 😉
In addition to the rarity of the reference itself, the 18208 with a smooth bezel is significantly rarer than the counterpart with a fluted bezel and an absolute highlight of the watch.
It is a baby blue STELLA dial in perfect condition and when I write perfect, I mean it. The dial shows absolutely no damage, the mirror laquer is 100% perfect, the print is clear and the color is simply wonderful. All lume dots are completely intact and here we are talking about triple AAA quality.
This dial also has an additional special feature. What many collectors don’t know is that until the early 2000s, Rolex offered selected customers the opportunity to reorder Stella dials for the watches they purchased. These were not service dials, but original dials from the time that Rolex still had in stock! Due to legal guidelines, these were then equipped with Luminova material and installed in the customer’s watch. Again, this was only possible in Geneva!
This is exactly such a special, rare dial which also explains its perfect condition. Created and installed by Rolex Geneva, indicates only specialists were involved.
In addition to the dial, the condition and the reference itself, the scope of delivery is also great. The watch comes with original papers. It has been sold by rolex authorized dealer Bucherer in Lucerne. In addition to the original papers, the beautiful old box is also preserved, including the outer box, pencil case, tissue and the pouch, which is actually always missing.
Finally, as usual, the information about the bracelet and here you have probably already seen what a rare bracelet the watch comes with. The 7206 Nietoyster for day dates. Super beautiful, super rare, unfortunately also super expensive. The condition is excellent, with full length and only slight stretch, as well as slight signs of wear. Furthermore, the clasp code R11 for November 1992 also fits the watch wonderfully.
Conclusion: Once again a beauty from my Day-Date collection that leaves me with a heavy heart. Why? I was recently able to purchase another Stella beauty and you just can’t keep them all. Unfortunately I don’t have that much money :-(.
