The case is in very good condition. Its full lugs, sharp edges, and a fantastic matte finish are its defining features. It has certainly been polished in the pas but very gently and to a high standard.
The highlight of this watch is undeniably the dial. Matte 16800s are rare – matte 16800s with such a great patina even rarer. The condition is truly perfect. No flaws, wonderfully clear print and as mentioned, the lume has developed a wonderfully rich yellow patina.
The hands are also in top condition with a patina that perfectly complements the dial.
The bezel is beautifully sharp, the sapphire crystal is perfect and the bezel inlay shows only minimal signs of wear.
The 93150 Oyster bracelet, just as the watch itself, is in fine vintage condition. The bracelet shows light signs of wear and minimal stretch. The clasp code is G for 1982/83, meaning this is the original bracelet for the watch.
Conclusion: Powerful presence in fantastic condition. If it’s going to be a matte 16800, then this is the one.
