A wonderful Swiss Oysterquartz Day-Date with a demanded black dial.
The case is in excellent condition. Yes, it shows signs of wear and some sleeve polish, but it also demonstrates wonderful substance. An Oysterquartz Day-Date can always be judged by the distance between the bezel and the case edge. You should always be able to see the case between the bezel and the case edge; if so, the watch is in top condition, and this one is. Frankly, the case is almost certainly unpolished. Everything is just right, including the vertical matting on the case
The black Oysterquartz dial is perfect. Crisp print, wonderful serifs on the letters, and the lume material has developed a rich and prominent patina. The hands are equally wonderful with a patina that complements the dial.
The bezel, just as the case, is wonderfully preserved with light sleeve polish and minor signs of wear. The sapphire crystal is perfect.
This cool Day-Date delights its owner as a wonderful set from beautiful Switzerland. It has been sold on July 20, 1979, by rolex authorized dealer Bucherer in Lugano. The set is truly beautiful, including the original catalog, polishing cloth, and Oyster booklet.
The integrated 18-karat yellow gold Oysterquartz bracelet, matching the case, is also in excellent condition. The crown on the clasp is fully intact, with light stretch (see stretch image) and identical signs of wear to the watch. Furthermore, it comes with 24 links and will also fit larger wrists.
