Description: Unpolished 18238 Day-Date with a beautiful and rare black pyramid dial.
The case is in fine unpolished condition. It is characterized by full lugs, wonderful proportions, sharp edges and a great matte finish on the top of the case. There are slight signs of wear, but of course no deep scratches, dents or anything like that. Furthermore, the watch has only been worn for a short period of time over the last few years, so the gold has already taken on a light patina which i personally love because it makes the watch look almost red gold.
The black pyramid dial is certainly a highlight. I really like these dials as their pyramid structure means they catch the light wonderfully and look different and exciting from every angle. The condition of the dial is perfect. No weaknesses, scratches or anything like that.
The hands are just as wonderful and they are the correct hands without lume, as the dial also has no lume
The bezel is wonderfully sharp with minor signs of wear and the sapphire glas is perfect.
This great pyramid comes with box and papers. It has been delivered in Switzerland by rolex authorized dealer Theodor Beyer Chronometrie on Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich. Did you know that Theodor Beyer Chonometry is one of Rolex’s oldest concessionaires?
The 8385 Oyster bracelet is in great condition. It shows minimal stretch and minor signs of wear. Just as the watch, it is unpolished with a fully intact crown on the clasp. The bracelet has a total of 23 links and with the clasp code N2 for February 1990, it is the original bracelet for the watch.
Conclusion: condition, dial, scope of delivery. Everything here is in the top league.
