Description: Wonderful, untouched 18238 Day-Date with a stunning dial from Italy.
A case to die for. Completely untouched, with perfect proportions, razor-sharp edges, and a wonderful matte finish on the top of the case. Light signs of wear, but no deep scratches, dents, or anything like that. The watch has been worn so little that the gold has already aquired a light, even patina. Magnificent.
The watch’s outstanding quality is also confirmed by the completely intact caseback.
The dial is a special feature. The dial was originally silver and, over the decades, probably due to its limited wear, has acquired a wonderful patina that, depending on the light, gives it a slight golden shimmer. Along with its truly perfect condition and all lume dots completely intact, sets it apart.
The hands are equally perfect, with a patina that matches the dial.
The bezel is razor-sharp, naturally unpolished, and has also already acquired a light patina. The sapphire crystal is perfect.
This exceptional Day-Date comes in a magnificent full set. It has been sold in June 1998 by Cesare Gabaglio in Como (Italy LC 170). The scope of delivery is truly exceptional, including both booklets, a calendar, and a small notepad, which I’ve never seen before in this form!
The 8385 President bracelet, just as the watch, is of exceptional quality. It has no stretch and shows exactly the same light signs of wear as the watch. It comes with 23 links and, with clasp code Z1 for January 1997, is the original bracelet for the watch.
Conclusion: A Day-Date that will make any heart beat faster. Condition, special features, scope of delivery. Everything is just right.
