Description: Probably one of the coolest day dates to own. Great 18238 Double Quick Day-Date with demanded ONYX dial in a full set.
The case is in top condition. It is characterized by full lugs, razor-sharp edges and a wonderful matte finish. There are minor signs of wear, but overall it’s a feast for the eyes.
The bezel is also extremely sharp and completes a fine overall picture.
The highlight here is of course the dial. An onyx dial in perfect condition.
Onyx dials are not the rarest stone dials but the combination of yellow gold and the deep black dial is immediately convincing. The demand for these dials has increased extremely in recent years and I have been very fortunate to be able to sell some Onyx Day-Dates. Nevertheless, I’m always happy when such a beauty comes in.
The hands are also in perfect condition and are the correct variant for stone dials, which are without lume.
This onyx beauty comes in a great scope of delivery, with box and papers. It has been sold on January 24, 1990 by rolex authorized dealer MATTEO BONADIES GIOIELLI in Barletta (LC 200 Italy).
The 8385 President bracelet is great, just as the watch. The stretch picture shows that the bracelet is wonderfully tight, i.e. only light stretch and just as few signs of wear. The crown on the clasp is fully intact, the bracelet has 23 links and with clasp code N9 for September 1989, this is the original bracelet for the watch.
Conclusion: Day-Date Onyx. Top watch, top set. Wonderful
