Description: Rare and wonderful platinum day-date with brilliant bezel.
The case is in very good condition. It is characterized by full lugs, sharp edges and a great matte finish on the top of the case. As is typical for platinum, there are only signs of wear in the form of micro-scratches on the side surfaces and of course no deep scratches, dents or anything like that.
The bezel, of course a highlight of the watch, is wonderful. All diamonds are completely intact and have a wonderful fire that only an original Rolex setting can achieve.
The dial is a classic silver/gray day-date dial with sunray cut finish and diamond indices. The condition is perfect and I would particularly like to point out that the dial is the rare platinum version.
Rolex always gave platinum dials slightly larger/longer baguette indices than the variant for white gold watches. This can also be seen wonderfully in the macro photo that we took for you.
Of course, the dial is also chronologically correct and therefore absolutely original to the watch. This can be recognized by the T Swiss Made T lettering at 6 o’clock and the tritium lume.
The hands are also original, coated with tritium and have a patina that matches the dial.
The President bracelet (950 platinum), just as the watch, is in great condition. It shows only minimal stretch (see detailed image), minor signs of wear and comes with 22 links. Furthermore, the clasp code is M3 for March 1988 and is therefore the original bracelet to the watch.
Conclusion: Rare and attractive Day-Date with a wonderful diamond setting. The coolness of the platinum in combination with the diamonds is a stunner on the wrist.
