Description: Beautiful 18039 Day-Date with unpolished THICK CASE and beautiful blue/petrol diamond dial.
The case is in wonderful condition. This is a rare case variant of the Day-Date, named THICK CASE. This variant is characterized by a significantly thicker case than later versions. This gives the watch additional presence on the wrist and makes it look a little sportier.
We left the case, just as the entire watch, untouched because it is unpolished. Full lugs, wonderful edges and a nice matt finish on the top of the case.
There are signs of wear and a light shirt polish, but overall it is a wonderful vintage case that is fun to wear.
In addition to the rare and great case, the dial is also a highlight. It is a rare blue dial with diamonds. The condition of the dial is wonderful and it has an additional special feature. It has undergone a slight color change over the decades, became a little lighter and now shines in a blue/petrol color. Unique and really wonderfully present on the wrist. By the way, the condition of the dial is also excellent, with all the lume dots intact and a wonderful clear print.
The hands, just as the dial, are in fine condition with a patina that matches the dial.
The bezel is still well sharp with clear grooves and llight signs of wear.
The 8385 presidential bracelet in 18 carat white gold is original to the watch with clasp code M5 for May 1987. It shows light stretch and light signs of wear. We also left it in its original condition because it harmonizes perfectly with the case and is also unpolished, which can be clearly seen from the intact crown of the clasp.
