Great Submariner Date 16800 with matte dial, box and papers from germany and a beautiful tropical brown inlay. The case is in very good condition. Slightly polished in the past, it shows nice proportions, top sharp chamfers and a very good matte finish on top of the case. There are light signs of wear present but off course no deep scratches, dents or anything like that. The matte Submariner Date dial is great. It shows no imperfections at all, no stains on the black primer and the print is nice and clear. The tritium lume has only aged to a light cremy tone which is quite common for these dials. Because of the bright lume it’s fully present and lovely to look at. The triium hands are also in great shape with matching patina. The bezel is sharp and the saphir crystal perfect. One highlight of the watch is for sure the beautiful inlay. Over the decades it has developed a lovely brown/eggplant patina. Also it shows only light signs of wear and is a real beauty. The pearl has a little crack but that’s hard to spot on the wirst. This great matte dial 16800 Submariner date is offered with box and papers. It was sold in september 1983 from Rolex authorized retailer Carl Jos Linnartz in Cologne Germany (LC 100). It’s also nice that the green side sticker on the punched papers is still present, showing also the serial of the watch. This green stickers have been used by Rolex Cologne and can only be seen on german papers. The 93150 oyster bracelet is in fine condition with light stretch and light signs of wear. It’s a little younger as the watch, coming with clasp code L4 für april 1987.
Conclusion: Great 16800 with papers and tropical inlay. A beauty on the wrist.
