Description: Brilliant meters first Red Submariner from a Swedish professional diver.
This Red Sub certainly won’t win everyone’s hearts, but anyone who likes vintage and Rolex watches that are used for what they were built for, will love it.
Some of my best vintage treasures come from Scandinavia. Over the last few years, I have built up a great network of collectors who always keep their watch noses to the wind and discover beauties like this.
Absolutely authentic MK2 meters first Red Submariner purchased by a professional diver in Sweden in the early 1970s. Carl, I was allowed to speak to him personally, had bought the watch to wear it in action and as the pictures show, he did so extensively. Scratches, blemishes and a good dent on the left side, which came from a dive on an oil rig in the North Sea, have left their mark. But Carl paid attention to what we vintage freaks love and are looking for. No polish, nothing has ever been changed apart from the bracelet!
By the way, I asked Carl if he could find an old picture of the watch. His answer still makes me laugh. “Why should I take a picture of my watch”? Well Carl. Check Insta. My feed is full of them 😉
Now to the hard facts.
Unpolished case with the marks of three lives on it. Blood rinse fully intact, nothing polished, nothing changed. Pure vintage.
Gorgeous MK2 meters first Red Submariner dial. The MK2 meters first dial is one of the rarest Red Submariner dials and can be easily recognized by the B of suBmariner. Here the white background print shines through clearly and characterizes the look. Condition perfect, wonderful red and magnificent lume material with the typical waffle print for the time.
Bezel original, unpolished and with exactly the same signs of wear as the case. Plus a super bold MK3 inlay with cool fading and lots of traces of time.
We installed the glas freshly because the old glas was unfortunately no longer be preserved. Milky and with deep scratches. By the way, the old glass is available upon request!
The 9315 Oyster bracelet with 280 lugs is great because Carl had it replaced in the mid-70s and didn’t wear the watch much after that. It does not show a clasp code, which confirms the information again, because in the period 75/76 Rolex used unmarked bracelets.
By the way. The watch arrived with extremely poor movement function, received a full service and is now running great again. Furthermore, and I emphasize this, the watch is waterproof! It’s amazing what these things can handle.
Conclusion: story, story, story and fantastic appearance. Sometimes I have the greatest job in the world.
