Description: For sale is a great 1680 Red Submariner with top patina coming with box and papers

The case is in nice condition. Polished in the past, it shows strong lugs, nice wide chamfers and a great finish on top of the lugs. Signs of wear are present but no deep scratches, dents or anything like that.

The MK5 feet first dial is in great condition. No imperfections, strong and clear print and a top yellow patina on the lume. That’s how a Red Sub should look like. The tritium lume material has aged beautifully into a strong yellow tone and creates a great image.

The tritium hands are also in great condition and matching the dial patina 100%

The MK3 inlay wit fat font print has faded to a nice and even blueish color and together with the patina on the lume it’s just a great overall look. Also the inlay shows only light signs of wear and the pearl at 12 is off course tritium.

Please also note that the plexi crystal is the old version with no chamfers on the edge. These version is called top hat, it’s original to the watch and super rare to get today because most oft hem were changed over the years.

This nice Red Sub is offered with box and papers and was 04.06.1974 from Rolex Authorized Dealer Hunke in Ludwigsburg (Germany). The dealer was super correct and filled out both forms. He used the german translation of the certificate to note the reference number, selling date, the internal stock number and stamped it. The certificate is also stamped on the outside and the internal stock number is noted on the right side of the certificate.

As you might have seen on the picture, the punched serial number on the certificate is a bit slipped. That happend sometimes in the 60s and 70s at Rolex because these ceritifactes were still put in the stamping machine by hand.

Beside the nice paperwork the watch is also coming with the original box (rare one) an oyster booklet and the plastic certificate wallet.

The 9315 folded oyster bracelet is in nice condition with 380 endlinks. It has 10 links and was changed during a service in the 70s because it’s without date code which was used after 75/67

Conclusion: Beautiful Red Sub with a great charisma in a german full set
