Description: MIRROR dial GMT-Master with a great history.
The case is in very good condition. Anyone who has looked at the pictures before studying the text will have recognized it immediately. This watch has the typical Bexley cut, which is characterized by wide and wonderfully sharp edges. This condition This beautiful dial of GMT has been serviced by Rolex Bexley several times.
In addition to the great and typical bevelled edge, the watch shows beautiful and full lugs, as well as a very good matt finish on the top of the case, despite the services performed. There are minor signs of wear, but no deep scratches, dents or anything like that.
The caseback is engraved. The initials J.S.R. were engraved.
One of the highlights of this watch is certainly the wonderful “Gilt” glossy dial?. It is in wonderful and almost perfect condition with a clear lacquer surface?, perfectly clean print and the lume material leaves nothing to be desired. These sheets are referred to as so-called “mirror” or mirror dials, as the sun is perfectly reflected in the dials varnish. I’ve been a collector of vintage Rolex for almost 15 years now and I have to say that I’ve rarely had such a great dial in my hand. 1A quality.
The hands are also in beautiful condition with a coherent lume material and a small 24 hands. It is not a Gilt pointer, which is very often the case, because these were almost always exchanged.
The bezel shows good sharpness and minor signs of wear. The bezel inlay is a wonderfully aged so-called mff bezel inlay (mega fat font) in top condition. Due to the aging (slight fading of the color) it is more subtle and harmonizes perfectly with the glossy dial.
Another highlight of the watch: As shown in a picture, the watch comes with a wonderful history, in the form of numerous service papers. All service papers bear the recipient name J.S. Remington and thus we would be back to the cover engraving, which starts with J.S.R. matches perfectly.
There are four service certificates in total:
Rolex Bexley Service on September 6th, 1976 (7835 was handwritten here) Rolex Bexley Service on May 21, 1979 Rolex Bexley Service on May 26th, 1987 Rolex Bexley Service on 03/11/2005
The 7835 folding oyster bracelet is in very good condition. It shows slight stretch due to age and just as slight signs of wear. It wears perfectly and, as already mentioned above, was exchanged as part of a service in 1976.
Conclusion: beautiful GILT GMT-Master with a great history.
