Beschreibung: Great U Series Zenith Daytona in a full set with a fresh Rolex service.
The case is in very good condition. It has been polished to perfection by a specialist in 2024. Excellent proportions, sharp edges, and a very good finish characterize the case. Since polishing, the watch has been worn very little; only light signs of wear are visible and a light mark from the strap removal on the inside of the lower lugs.
The white Daytona dial is in perfect condition with no flaws. It is still the tritium version, which can be identified by the T Swiss Made T lettering. Due to the high U serial number, this is likely one of the last tritium dials ever installed by Rolex in a 16520 Daytona.
The hands are also tritium and are also in excellent condition.
The bezel is also perfectly polished with minimal signs of wear and clear numerals. The sapphire crystal is perfect.
This fine U Series Zenith Daytona comes from Thailand. According to the papers, it has been sold in May 2002. At that time, Zenith Daytonas were already sought after, so dealers often kept them in safes and only handed them over when they purchased something (jewelry, etc.). That was likely the case with this watch, too, and given the language (Italian), an Italian customer certainly added a watch to their Thailand vacation 😉
The set is truly top-notch, including the original Daytona booklet, seal, and hang tag with the watch’s serial number!
Furthermore, the watch received a full Rolex service in January 2025. The buyer will receive a new NFC card, which can be used to access all data. It is fully guaranteed until January 2027.
The 78390 Oyster bracelet, just as the watch, is in very good condition. The bracelet has also been professionally polished, so it shows only minor signs of wear. It has a slight stretch, and with the clasp code U4 for April 1998, it is the original bracelet for the watch.
Conclusion: A fine Zenith Daytona, one of the last with tritium, in a wonderful full set.
