Besides its top condition, the dial is an absolute highlight. It’s a silver pinball dial. Why is it called like that? The indices on this dial are unique and visually resemble the components of a pinball machine. That’s why collectors started calling it a pinball dial. I’ve been in the vintage world for a long time and I love Day-Dates myself. When I tell you that I’ve only seen this dial twice, you’ll know how rare it is.
The condition of the dial and hands are, by the way, perfect. No damage whatsoever, wonderful patina on the lume material on the dial and hands. Exactly as it should be.
Of course, the sapphire crystal is equally perfect, and the bezel is razor-sharp, unpolished, and shows only the lightest signs of wear.
This magnificent Day-Date delights its new owner with box and papers. It has been sold in February 1988 by the renowned Rolex dealer Astrua in Turin, Italy. The complete set is top-notch, including the original box, original papers, Italian Day-Date booklet, and red seal.
The 8385 President bracelet is, and I must use the word again, equally perfect. No stretch, unpolished. Just as it should be. It comes with 22 links and, with clasp code K10 for October 1986, is the original bracelet for the watch.
Conclusion: I’ve already written “perfect” once or twice. I’ll spare you that now 😉 Buy it, unpack it, and be amazed at how awesome this watch is.
