Description: Beautiful Double Quickset Bark Day-Date in perfect condition from Germany (LC100)
The case is in perfect, unpolished condition. Perfect proportions, razor-sharp chamfers, and a perfect matte finish characterize it. The top condition is also confirmed by the completely intact caseback sticker.
There are minimal signs of wear, but this is the kind of condition that vintage enthusiasts seek and love.
The black dial is perfect. No damage whatsoever, clear printing, and all luminous dots are fully intact. Furthermore, the tritium lume has developed a beautiful, creamy vanilla patina.
The hands are also perfect, with a patina that perfectly matches the dial.
The bezel is top end, with a razor-sharp bark engraving, and the sapphire crystal is flawless.
This wonderful Day-Date comes as a full set. It originates from Germany and was sold by Wempe in Hamburg on August 29, 1993. The set is truly exceptional, including the original purchase receipt, booklet, and a nice period correct Rolex catalog.
The original owner, from whom we were able to acquire the watch directly, was a accurate man.
The 8723 President bracelet is a real highlight. It’s in perfect condition with absolutely no stretch and a great length with 23 links. The clasp code is S1, and since the watch comes directly from the original owner, it’s clear that clasp codes on Day-Dates can be a bit tricky. S1 actually stands for January 1994, but this watch was delivered with this exact bracelet. Rolex produced gold bracelets in batches and kept them in stock. This particular bracelet was a fresh pre-production batch, and used because they simply didn’t have any other bark president bracelets in stock.
