The case is in good condition. It has certainly been polished before and the watch has generally been worn with pleasure, so it has received some sleeve polish, but you can still clearly see the typical wide chamfers on the case and there is still enough substance. Overall and in terms of the overall look, it’s harmonious and beautiful for me.
The dial is top, but be careful. A MK2 or MK4 dial should actually be installed in this serial number range. Therefore, the current dial has been installed as part of a service in the late 1970s. It is not a service dial per se, because at that time the 1675 was still produced regularly and a new dial from the current production was used. Something negative? Yes and no, but if you don’t take the bracelet off and check the serial number, no one will know!
The condition of the MAXI MKV dial is really great. No damage whatsoever, wonderfully strong application of lume material and a really super fine patina on it are immediately convincing. The hands are matching perfectly and leave nothing to be desired.
The bezel is still sharp and the redback Pepsi inlay is a stunner. This washed out blue, combined with the cool aged red and the mega dial create a really great vintage look. That’s also the reason why I bought it. Rarely have I seen so many smiles on my wrist.
The 78360 Oyster bracelet is a later bracelet with clasp code RS6 (June 2010), but in fine condition and only lightly stretchy.
Conclusion: Vintage Pepsi at it’s best. Not for the “everything has to be perfect” followers, but for those who appreciate the look of a watch. You can’t buy them either, then I’ll happily wear them over the summer.
