description: Rare 16710 GMT-Master II with SWISS ONLY dial.
The case is in very good condition. Recently gently polished, it shows full lugs, great edges and a very good matt finish on the top of the case. Furthermore, signs of wear are only visible with a loupe which means one can find a maximum of one or two micro-scratches from transport or storage.
Incidentally, the caseback sticker also testifies to the quality of the case which is still in very good condition!
The dial is very special. It is a so-called SWISS ONLY dial. In 1998, Rolex switched the production of lume material from tritium to Superluminova. During this changeover and only for a short period of about 2 years (1998 to 2000) dials with the imprint SWISS were used. From 2000 this has then been changed to the well-known SWISS MADE.
Since the MADE is missing here, one speaks of SWISS ONLY.
Since this watch dates from 1999, it fits perfectly into the mentioned period. Therefore, dial and watch are 100% original and delivered as is.
The hands, just as the dial, are coated with Superluminova and are in excellent condition.
The bezel is wonderfully sharp, the sapphire glas is perfect and the COKE bezel inlay is a rare fat font serif one with only light signs of wear.
This great SWISS ONLY GMT delights its new owner with box and papers. It has been sold by Oriental Watch Co. in Kongkong (LC 888) in April 1999. It is also particularly nice that the original box with 16710 stickers has been preserved.
The 78790 Oyster bracelet is in very good condition. The bracelet has also been slightly polished and therefore shows the most minimal signs of storage and transport. It also has only a light stretch and comes with all links. The clasp code is X3 for March 1999 and therefore it is the original bracelet to the watch.
Conclusion: Cool 16710 GMT II in fine condition with the rarest dial variant of this reference!
