The case is a vintage beauty. Unpolished, it displays perfect proportions, full lugs and the typical distance between the crown and bezel, which highlights the quality of a 1803.
This watch has been cherished and worn gently for the past 50 years. It shows light signs of wear and some sleeve polish, but whoever has a look at the case is immediately captivated by its beauty.
The petrol-blue sunray-cut dial is simply wonderful. It is in perfect condition with crisp print and a beautiful color. Many of these dials develop a patina around the lume dots over the decades which can be extensive and detract from the dial’s appearance. Here, this effect is minimal around the four o’clock lume dot. Otherwise, it is not visible, making the dial exceptionally high-quality.
The hands are equally wonderful, with a rich, harmonious patina that complements the dial perfectly.
The bezel is still perfectly sharp and shows the same signs of wear as the case.
The 8385 President bracelet is exquisite and truly special. Not many 1803 models were delivered with a concealed clasp, such as this watch. Furthermore, the bracelet is unpolished with a perfectly intact crown. There is some light stretch but the bracelet wears perfectly on the wrist and comes with all 24 links.
