Description: Beautiful and extremely rare 222 JUMBO with a so-called CREAM dial.
The case of this watch is an absolute feast for the eyes. Anyone who browses through my archive will find that I have already been able to offer some of these rare pieces.
That’s why I’m pretty deep into the subject when it comes to the 222 Jumbo and can guarantee that this watch is absolutely unpolished. The proportions, the case edges, the sharpness of the bezel, everything is just right here and of course the perfect caseback with its engravings speak for the fantastic quality of this watch.
By the way, I’m a big fan of the 222 Jumbo. I think it is the perfect link between the sportier 5402 from AP and the classic 3700 from Patek.
In addition to the fantastic condition of the case, the dial is also magical. It is the rare CREAM variant. The dial is made in a wonderful cream tone, which is unique to the 222 Jumbo. The condition of the dial is perfect and, as the pictures wonderfully show, the lume has taken on a deep and strong patina. The combination of the strong patina and the creamy colour of the dial gives the watch the perfect look.
By the way, the hands are also wonderful and have a patina that perfectly matches the lume on the dial.
As already mentioned, the bezel is razor sharp and of course the sapphire glas is perfect too.
The watch comes with an archive extract from Vacheron Constantin confirming delivery in 1978.
The integrated 222 JUMBO bracelet is truly outstanding. No stretch, perfect alignment of the links and only minor signs of wear underline the wonderful quality of this watch.
Conclusion: Jörg Haysek has been commissioned to create a unique watch for the 222nd anniversary of the Vacheron Constantin brand and did a perfect job.
