Description: A stunning unpolished Double Quick Day-Date in a classic configuration from Germany.
The case is in very good and, above all, unpolished condition. It features full lugs, razor-sharp edges, and a perfect matte finish. The watch has been worn and therefore shows light signs of wear on all parts of the case, but overall, someone has taken great care of their watch and kept it in excellent and absolutely authentic condition.
The bezel is unpolished, just as the case, wonderfully sharp, and has the same signs of wear as the case.
The golden sunray-cut dial is special! As the pictures show, it is significantly more vibrant than comparable dials that are more champagne-colored. I assume, as the family of the original owner also told me, that the watch has been carefully stored in a safe since the early 2000s, and the dial has acquired a wonderfully even patina. It could also be that this is a production with a more vibrant color scheme. In any case, it’s super cool!
The hands match the dial perfectly and have a harmonious patina.
This great classic delights its new owner with box and papers from Germany. It has been sold in January 1994 by rolex authorized dealer Wallner Jewelers in Nuremberg (LC 100). It’s also cool that the Wallner Checkup card has been preserved. Back then, you could bring your watch in for an annual checkup at Wallner and receive a one-year warranty.
The 8385 President bracelet, just as the case, is unpolished and has a fully intact clasp. The bracelet stands upright and therefore shows no stretch. It comes with 22 links and, with clasp code R8 for August 1993, is the original bracelet for the watch.
Conclusion: Day-Date at its best. Classic and in top condition. We love it.
