Description: Great German Day-Date with thick case variant and cool tapestry dial.
The case is in top condition. This is the thick case version which was used by Rolex for a short period in the early 80s and, as you might guess, it is characterized by a significantly thicker case. This gives the watch additional presence on the wrist and makes it appear a millimeter or two larger.
As I said, condition is great. Full thick lugs, super sharp edges and a perfect matte finish. Signs of wear are minimal and the bezel is super sharp and matches the condition of the case.
The silver tapestry dial is an absolute eye-catcher and is in perfect condition with all lume dots fully intact. The hands are also great and have a patina that matches the dial.
The 8385 President bracelet is fine, with light stretch and fully intact crown on the clasp. A small note on this: On the 18038, the crown is slightly fatter and flatter. If you take this into consideration, the crown on the clasp has been polished once at the most. The clasp code of the bracelet is D for 1980 and is therefore the original bracelet for the watch.
Conclusion: Oh my day dates. Just love those things. One series, a thousand possible looks and here with the necessary quality for a great time on your wrist.
