The case of an Oysterquartz is something special. Due to the distinctive edges and the overall appearance of this watch, also in relation to the bezel to case spacing, it is important that this watch has been unpolished or very well polished to show its full beauty.
The specimen we can offer here has the desired attributes. Unfortunately, I can’t say whether unpolished or carefully polished. What I can say is that the case has the proportions I was looking for, the edges are wonderfully present and the distance between the bezel and the edge of the case is wonderfully matte.
There are signs of wear in the form of superficial scratches on the case and strap, and there are also the odd small nick, but as already mentioned above, the case impresses with its great overall look.
The black Oysterquartz dial is in very good condition. Full deep black color and no visible damage characterize it. Furthermore, all luminous dots are present and only 3 and 4 are missing a minimal amount of luminous material, but this is not visible on the wrist.
The hands are also very good and slightly lighter than the patina of the luminous material on the dial.
The bezel is identical to the case in very good condition, with the usual signs of wear.
The integrated Oyster strap is lightly polished, with the usual signs of wear and slight stretch. It has 12 links and is therefore suitable for larger wrists. Furthermore, the clasp code GC (G indicates the year 81/82) is the original strap for the watch.
Conclusion: Cool Oysterquartz with a fine case and great contrast thanks to the dial.
