Description: Beautiful 1680 Submariner with Maxi MK3 dial.
The case is in very good condition. Gently polished in the past, it displays very good proportions, beautifully sharp edges, and a very good matte finish on the top of the case. There are signs of wear, but as the pictures show, no deep scratches, dents, or anything like that.
The MK3 Submariner Date dial is in very good condition. This is a so-called Maxi dial because the lume material is applied more heavily here, which makes the watch appear much more presentable on the wrist. The lume material is beautifully even and has a wonderful creamy patina.
Slight imperfections in the tritium can be seen at the 6 and 7 o’clock lume material. This is typical for MK3 Maxi dials and occurred due to the larger application of lume material. However, due to the patina, these two spots are visually not noticable and therefore do not detract from the beauty in the slightest.
The hands are also in very good condition, with a patina that matches the dial.
The inlay is an MK4 inlay, which was probably replaced during a service. It’s in perfect condition, and the pearl is, of course, also tritium.
The bracelet is a 93150 Oyster in good condition with light stretch. The clasp code is S X10, making it a service clasp from October 1999.
Conclusion: A great Submariner with great looks at a fantastic price.
