A truly beautiful 1675 GILT DIAL GMT-Master with a perfect dial, also known among collectors as a MIRROR GILT.
The case is in excellent condition. While it has certainly been polished at some point, it still shows exactly what we collectors look for: full, thick lugs, beautiful proportions, the typical wide edge-cut of GMTs from the 1960s and a very good matte finish on the top of the case.
There are some minor signs of wear but overall, this case is simply a joy to own. Vintage quality and appearance as one could wish for.
The dial is an absolute highlight. It is a GILT dial of wonderful quality. With GILT dials, we place great emphasis on the quality of the lacquer. Why? Because these dials only reveal their full beauty in perfect condition.
Many of these dials have developed weaknesses over the past decades, such as cracks in the lacquer or blistering of the surface. That’s acceptable, but anyone who has ever held a perfect gilt dial in their hands will agree that you have to dig deeper into your pockets for quality.
The gilt dial offered here can rightly be described as a mirror dial. Collectors use the term “mirror” when the dial still has its full luster and you can see your reflection in its intact lacquer layer. No cracks, no bubbles, simply wow.
Furthermore, the entire print on the dial is wonderfully clear, and the lume material has developed a fantastic patina over the decades.
The hands are also in top condition. They have the typical light tarnish from the tritium reacting with the metal. The patina on the hour, minute, and second hands complements the dial beautifully. The small 24-hour hand has been replaced at some point, hence the slightly darker patina which is not noticeable in person.
The bezel is wonderfully sharp and the inlay is another highlight. Here we have a perfectly aged MEGA FAT FONT REDBACK inlay. Super bold printed numerals, beautiful aging and minimal signs of wear are the quality that such a great watch deserves.
The crystal? Yes, you’ve already noticed the missing date magnifier. My customer, from whom we acquired the watch, decided a long time ago that it had to have a super rare T38 superdomed crystal, and I completely agree with him. The combination of the dial, inlay and T38 superdomed crystal is simply fantastic.
The watch comes with a fresh service, is water-resistant, and runs beautifully. This guarantees years of enjoyment.
The 7206 Oyster bracelet with 80mm end links is fine. It shows light stretch and superficial signs of wear. It comes with 11 links and is also suitable for larger wrists. The clasp code is 2/63 for the second quarter of 1963.
Conclusion: A 1675 GILT exactly as it should be. The watch is of top quality in every aspect and is simply a pleasure to wear.
