A stunning GMT-Master 1675 with a MK5 Maxi dial and a perfect appearance.
The case is in top condition. It has recently been polished and the result is truly wonderful. Top proportions, razor-sharp edges, and a perfect matte finish. If a watch is going to be polished, it should be done like this!
The GMT-Master dial is one of the highlights of this watch. It’s an MKV dial, which is, of course, original to the watch. These MKV dials are special because they were produced in the so-called Maxi version. MAXI means that the lume material is applied much more generously than in earlier versions, which makes a huge difference to the appearance of the dial, especially with a cool patina as this one.
The hands are also in excellent condition and have a patina that perfectly matches the dial.
The bezel is wonderfully sharp and the bezel inlay is a truly magnificent “redback” inlay with wonderful pink/orange and light blue colors and a bold print. These original redback inlays from this period are becoming increasingly difficult to find and such a bezel enhances the watch’s appeal enormously.
The 78360 Oyster bracelet just as the watch itself, has been freshly polished and therefore shows no signs of wear. It shows light stretch and the clasp is a service clasp with the code M6 for June 1988.
Conclusion: Vintage heaven. Good 1675s are rare and this one is a joy from the very first moment.
