Description: Chicchi di Mais Explorer II in great condition.
The case is in very good condition. Recently gently polished by our expert, it shows top proportions, beautifully sharp edges and a gorgeous matte finish on the top of the case. There are small signs of wear, but of course no deep scratches, dents or anything like that.
The heart of this watch and highlight is the dial. This is the chicchi di mais version. Early dial variants such as this dial from 1988 had a special mixture of tritium lume, which takes on a relatively strong patina and therefore creates a super cool contrast to the white dial.
The Italians have therefore given this dial variant the nickname Chicchi di Mais = corn kernels in english.
The condition of the dial is wonderful, with clear print, a creamy white, as mentioned, a cool patina of the lume and no damage.
The hands are in just as great condition with a consistent patina to the dial.
The bezel isn’t quite perfect, but overall it fits in perfectly with the vintage charm of the watch.
This cool Chicchi di Mais comes with service papers from 2015 and an invoice for the purchase of a new bracelet in 2022.
As the sentence above suggests, the 78360 Oyster bracelet came new to the watch in 2022 and is in 95% great condition.
