Beschreibung: Early first Tudor Submariner with a badass patina.
The case is good. It’s polished but still has plenty of substance, clean proportions, and no deep scratches, dents, or anything like that. It could, of course, be given a polish but I’d leave it as it is. The watch is 55 years old, and the charm is there!
The highlight, however, is the dial. It’s a first Tudor Submariner dial in great condition. As the pictures perfectly show, the print is wonderfully clear and the patina…well, the patina is simply “badass.” A super cool, even, and very strong patina that makes this watch look amazing on the wrist. You can also clearly see the structure of the lume, as Tudor used a coarse grain for the lume until the early 1970s.
The hands are also a highlight, as they are the correct set of hands with the so-called BIG LOLLIPOP sweep hand. It’s called like that because the ball containing the lume material is significantly larger than on later models. I love it.
The bezel is still perfectly sharp, and the inlay is a later MK4 inlay that was installed during a service. The bezel is tritium, and the glas is an original T19 superdomed, perfectly rounding off the look.
The watch comes on a brand-new green Molequin leather strap (green because it matches the patina perfectly) with a Rolex steel pin buckle.
Conclusion: If you’re looking for expression and vintage fun for your wrist and don’t want to break the bank, this watch is for you.
