Description: A beautiful 1680 Sub Date with a wonderful patina from the caribic.
The case is in top condition. Recently, polished the watch shows wonderful proportions, razor-sharp edges, and a gorgeous matte finish on the top of the case. Of course, we’re all always keen on unpolished watches, but anyone who has this watch on their wrist will agree 100% with me that it looks simply gorgeous like that. I like it a lot!
The Submariner Date dial is a highlight. This watch came to me because I recently had another great Sub Date with a rich patina to offer, which sold immediately and a good customer of mine then offered me this gem.
The facts: Perfectly preserved MK3 dial with MAXI lume of exceptional quality. The lume has acquired a wonderfully even and rich patina. The print on the dial is perfectly clear, with no chips or damage. Exactly what you want in a dial!
The hands are also top-notch. Depending on the light, it’s a shade lighter than the dial’s patina, but almost unrecognizable on the wrist and in natural light.
The bezel is beautifully sharp with clear teeth, and the wonderful black MK3 inlay perfectly matches the quality of this top-quality watch. The pearl is a shade lighter than the dial and hands, but that’s typical and should be like that.
We are pleased to offer this top-of-the-line 1680 Maxi Sub with box and papers. It has been sold in November 1979 by rolex authorized dealer Little Switzerland in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. The scope of delivery is cool, including the original case with serial number sticker, a calendar from 1980, and a translation.
The 93150 Oyster bracelet, just as the watch, is in perfect condition. Also polished, it shows no signs of wear and no stretch. The bracelet is a recent one, fitted during a service.
Conclusion: Vintage heaven. These 1680 Subs with their rich patina have so much presence on the wrist, simply magnificent.
