Description: Holly Chicchi, or I’m either hardworking or stupid.

Luck is with the stupid, or the world belongs to the hardworking. Now you can decide what exactly applies to me. Anyway, here is the story of this watch:

I recently had a mega Chicchi di Mais on offer. It was sold almost within seconds, but a good customer and friend called me and said “here, I have something for you.” Three days later I unpacked the watch and was amazed. This is the final boss of all Chicchi di Mais.

The case is in worn but unpolished condition. It is characterized by full lugs, sharp edges and a very good matte finish on the side surface. There are signs of wear, but overall the case is in wonderful vintage condition.

The dial? Unbelievable. This watch has received a lot of Spanish sunshine over the course of its life and that has done her extremely well. Chicchi di Mai’s dials are called like that because the Italians were the first to recognize the special nature of these dials and compared the color of the lume material to corn kernels. Here we have corn that is absolutely late in ripeness. Wonderful, extremely strong and present patina. Super even and a perfect contrast to the white dial. The condition of the dial itself is also perfect, without any weakness.

The hands are also in wonderful condition with a perfectly even patina to the dial.

This perfection of Chicchi di Mais comes from the hot middle of Spain. It has been sold by RELOJERIA BAENA in ZARAGOZA (LC 150). The scope of delivery is top, with Spanish Explorer booklet and original box with both stickers (16570 and white for white dial).

With the Explorer II there was the option to choose between the 78360 Oyster bracelet without a safety clasp and the 93150 Oyster bracelet. The concessionaire then ordered accordingly. In this case a customer paid the extra price for the 93150 and therefore the watch comes on the original 93150 Oyster bracelet.

The condition of the bracelet is also great. Same signs of wear as the case, minimal stretch and with clasp code R7 for July 1993, it is the original bracelet for the watch.

Conclusion: Absolute highlight. Of course there are more expensive watches and a Newman or something similar is also fun, but you will agree with me when you’ll have a first impression on this watch. Such diamonds are always a feast for the eyes.
