It’s always cool when my customers think of me when it comes to rare, beautiful watches. I was able to acquire this cool gilt Sub directly from the son of the original owner, who was referred to me by a long-time customer. “Fresh to the market,” so it’s perfect. <\/p>\n

The case is in very good condition. Worn and certainly polished once, it still displays excellent proportions, the typical broad bevel of the 60s and early 70s, and a very good matte finish on the top of the case. There are signs of wear, but overall, it’s in really fine vintage condition. <\/p>\n

The Bart Simpson gilt dial is really cool. It’s not perfect, but it has the features I absolutely have to have in gilt dials. The dial’s shine is super intact and reflective, just as you’d expect. Furthermore, the lume material has taken on a wonderful, strong patina. This, combined with the perfect print of the dial, creates a superb look. <\/p>\n

As already mentioned, the dial isn’t perfect. It has a few minor paint imperfections, which we’ve captured in photos especially for you. Since these are mostly on the edges and only visible from a specific angle, they don’t detract from its beauty at all. <\/p>\n

The original hands are tarnished, typical for gilt hands, and have a decent patina. Overall, though, it has the charm it deserves. Therefore, it’s been left as is. <\/p>\n

The bezel is wonderfully sharp and the MK3 inlay has certainly been added during a service which doesn’t matter as it has aged perfectly with a gray to light brown color and matches the watch perfectly. <\/p>\n

Of course, we treated the watch to a brand-new, old T19 superdomed to complete the look.<\/p>\n

The 7206 Oyster bracelet has also been replaced. The watch came on a leather strap, and we found a nice strap for you. The strap is also dated 1968, so it’s a bit younger, but in top condition and, of course, with the correct 80s lugs. <\/p>\n

Conclusion: A gilt with a wonderful vintage charisma. Even if it’s not perfect, you’ll immediately be enchanted by its charm. And it’s available at a fair price, making it a well-rounded offering. <\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
