Description:<\/strong> A wonderful 5513 Submariner meters first from Jussi and Karri.<\/p>\n

Vintage Rolex always means history and this watch has a great story. I was able to purchase it directly in Finland from the family of the original owner, which is why I can tell the story of the watch beautifully. It was given to Jussi as a gift from his family in April 1971. Jussi had turned 16 at the time and was starting his apprenticeship. He needed a reliable watch and the choice quickly fell on a Submariner. To preserve the moment forever, the caseback was engraved with the year and name.<\/p>\n

Sixteen years later, that same Jussi had a son named Karri and decided to add his son’s name and year of birth to the already engraved gift date. I love stories like this, because vintage watches have lived a lifetime, and now a new owner is writing the story.<\/p>\n

The case is very good. It’s been polished a few times, but the proportions are great, the edges are beautifully sharp, and the matte finish is also very good. There are signs of wear, but no deep dents, scratches or anything like that.<\/p>\n

The meters first dial is in very good condition. It is characterized by its clear print and the typical waffle structure of the lume material. This structure, by the way, was created by the application of the lume material which was done with a stamp and the imprints are part of the stamp. This feature is only found on early Submariner and GMT dials, as the lume material mixture was subsequently changed, so the structure was not as well preserved.<\/p>\n

The hands are also very good and have a wonderfully harmonious patina with the dial.<\/p>\n

The bezel is wonderfully sharp, and the inlay is a highlight. A wonderful MK3 inlay that has lost its black color over the decades and aged to a grayish shade. Furthermore, it is a so-called fat font inlay, even a kissing 4, because the 4 of 40 touches the zero, which we refer to as a kissing 4.<\/p>\n

The original T19 superdomed dial is also top-notch and rounds off the overall impression of the watch.<\/p>\n

The watch comes on the later 93150 Oyster bracelet with 580 lugs. It was replaced during the 1990s because the old folded bracelet was no longer of any use, and Jussi wanted to keep his watch.<\/p>\n

Conclusion: A wonderful watch, both in terms of looks and history. That’s what I love about vintage Rolexes. <\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
